I. Pools/Jacuzzi – All of the clubs pools/Jacuzzis have a new filtering system required by law. (Hair getting caught in filters – several drownings including Senator Baker’s granddaughter.) TCMB – New heaters women/men’s Jacuzzi. All pool chemicals are balanced and repairs done by Tru Blue, an outside pool service. The pools are cleaned by our maintenance staff. The salt systems cells are in the process of being replaced by early June.
II. LNRC Gym – new equipment – 3 spin bikes, 3 cardio cross trainers. Some of the navy blue walls have been painted white (Complaints of too dark by Treadmills. The trees will be trimmed at the back of the building for more light via the window.) The back window continues to be opened by members and is now nailed shut. A commercial floor fan has been provided in that area. It is important that the windows remain closed due to A/C being on. If members wish to work out with outside air they should use gym at the Monarch Club.
III. Miscellaneous
1. Lifeguard will be provided beginning June 21st – August 27th from 1-5 p.m. for safety of the children attending the tennis camps and swim afterwards.
2. New mats available for yoga.
3. Quotes are being taken to paint rest of tennis building.
4. Recycle bin for tennis balls is in place at Monarch.
5. Hole by the net on court 4 has been repaired.
6. All employees and independent contractors will be required to be CPR certified to work for Spearman Clubs by July 1st.
IV. Tennis Courts – The crack on court 13 has been repaired before and will be repaired again. (The crack seemed to be larger after the last earthquake in Mexico and the shaking was felt here in Laguna Niguel) As you can imagine the cost to remove/replace that court would be quite expensive - $50,000+. Some of the court lines at all the clubs are being repaired, also some courts are being patched as necessary. Shade awnings between courts 13 & 14, 15 & 16 have been ordered.
V. Fitness Building – Locker Rooms (LNRC)
1. New carpet for hall, locker rooms. (which will be squares for removal if persistent stains remain.)
2. Men’s locker room – Tile will be installed in the area adjoining showers. (where existing sinks are located)
3. Shower doors reworked to lessen water on the floor. No mats in front of showers, the mats will slide on a non-slip floor.
4. The women’s steam room – Tile to be regrouted/sealed. A tile wall will be put in place to left of steam door.
VI. LNRC
1. Re: New entrance to Club – Pro shop, office, new front desk – plans require approval by the city. Reason for expansion – To have more room inside the main building for member/guest. Too crowded at present.
VII. TCMB Lockers – Jean will look into locker situation. The keys are misplaced, etc. Difficult to keep the keys. Ongoing problem with lockers and keys.
